IT BEGINS...

Over the years, whenever they gathered at basecamp, I asked to hear that story, and little by little, I learned more and more.

I never questioned the story, it was exactly like the stories of Kachinas and the Yei-bechais, the Spirits who come from the sky. I never wondered about the ‘Star Elder’. At least, not until I went to college.

BIRTH OF THE TERRA PAPERS

My grandfather insisted that I go to school. He said I should learn all I could, especially about words, so that some day I could tell people about the ‘Old Ways’ in the right way.

College was good. I learned a lot. But I also met other students and a few teachers who made me start to wonder whether or not the story about the ‘Star Elder’ - and all the other stories I had grown up with - were true. Maybe, just maybe, they were just stories. That was very hard to take.

So, I decided to read all about ancient religions and star beings. And every time I thought I had found the oldest religion or had found out who the star beings were, I found another and even older story. It seemed as if I would never find the final story. After a couple of years, and with the help of some eager TAs (Teaching Assistants) who brought me some pieces of information, I found a history of the ancient world that was not a part of the traditional history books. I got excited and put together a thesis that I entitled ‘Terra, A Hidden History of Planet Earth’.

You would have thought I had assaulted him with a chair. Wow, was he upset! He promptly rejected the paper and directed me to write another ‘more appropriate’ paper. I did, but I was seriously disappointed and very disillusioned. I guess I had known this all along, if you do not ‘toe the line’, you simply will not be heard.

I approached some speakers who had written books about UFOs and Star Beings but they did not want to listen either. So, the ‘Terra’ thesis was filed away. For a long time, the paper remained in my files. Though I shared it with my grandfather, my family and a few close friends, the Papers ended up quietly tucked away.

HONORINGS & AUSTRALIA

In time, I began to put on performances and tell stories for audiences. This allowed me to do some traveling and to begin to fulfill my grand-father’s wishes that I speak of the ‘Old Ways’. It also enabled me to perform my Honorings at many sacred sites.

In the early 90s, I put together a Mak’Sho dance troupe that I was able to take to Australia. During that journey, I was able to dance in a Circle with the Aborigines of Australia and the Maoris of New Zealand. Native with Native with Native... amazing!
